In her most recent interview, Smriti Irani recounted phoning Amit Sadh as soon as she learned about Sushant Singh Rajput’s passing.
Amit Sadh previously made headlines when he spoke out about his close buddy and co-star in Kai Po Che Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide. The actor shocked the country when he took the extreme step and committed suicide on June 14, 2020. Sadh had expressed his sorrow for SSR’s passing and had also disclosed unrevealed information from the three to four months prior to his ascension to paradise. Actress-turned-politician Smriti Irani recalled the time she told SSR in an emotional chat in a recent interview.
The hit television programme Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi launched the career of the former actress, who is now the Union Minister of Women and Child Development and Minority Affairs. Irani recalled how much SSR’s passing hurt her in a recent interview.
Smriti Irani revealed the precise moment she found out about Sushant Singh Rajput’s passing during her appearance in an interview. “The day Sushant died, I was on a VC (video conference). There were many people. But I just couldn’t… I said stop it. I felt like, why did he not call me? He should have called once. I had told that boy, ‘Tum yaar maarna mat apne aap ko,” she said.
She also recalled contacting Amit Sadh for the same and she says, “Instantly, I was scared for Amit Sadh. I called him and asked him what he is up to. I knew, kuch gadbad karega bachcha. Usne mujhe kaha, mujhe nahi rehna, kya kiya iss idiot ne. I got the sense that something is wrong. Publicist Rohini Iyer told me, ‘I am very scared, somebody just find him’,”
Smriti Irani then recalled what Amit said and mentioned, “He asked me, ‘You don’t have work?’ I said, ‘I do, but just let’s talk’.”
