What happened to Rana’s Virata Parvam?

Virata Parvam starring Rana Daggubati and Sai Pallavi as the lead pair has wrapped up its shooting by last year itself. Being directed by Venu Udugula of Needi Naadi Oke Katha fame, earlier reports came out that the film will skip its theatrical release and opt for an OTT release but there is no update on it later.

Meanwhile, the latest we hear is that the makers are planning to release Virata Parvam first in theatres during the summer season itself. Inside reports say that the film may hit the screens in May and an official announcement regarding the same is expected to be out soon.

Also starring Priyamani, Nandita Das, Naveen Chandra, Eswari Rao, Nivetha Pethuraj and Zarina Wahab in crucial roles, Virata Parvam is a social drama set in Naxal backdrop in the early 90s time period. Suresh Babu in association with Sudhakar Cherukuri bankrolled the movie.
