Veera Simha Reddy starring Nandamuri Balakrishna in the titular role had a theatrical release during the Sankranthi season.
Directed by Gopichand Malineni, the film went on to become the career highest-grosser for Balayya and achieved superhit status at the box office.
The kind of applause Balakrishna received for Veera Simha Reddy from the fans and mass audience is massive.
Meanwhile, in a recent web interview, when Gopichand Malineni was asked what inspired him to create Veera Simha Reddy character,
the director without any second thought revealed that it is Paritala Ravindra who was in his mind while designing Veera Simha Reddy character.
The director also added that he took a few real-life incidents of Paritala Ravindra like cigarette smoking style daring attitude and added them to the role of Veera Simha Reddy.
As a fact check, when Paritala Ravindra was alive he used to have a similar kind of attitude and concern towards the public, say many leaders from Anantapur who watched him closely.
Coming back to Veera Simha Reddy, the film also has Honey Rose, Varalakshmi Sarathkumar,
Kannada star Duniya Vijay and Naveen Chandra in key roles. Co-starring Shruti Haasan as the female lead, Veera Simha Reddy has its music composed by Thaman.
