When stars acted without remuneration

Prabhas

To act in the landmark film, Baahubali, Prabhas refused to take Rs 25 crore remuneration offered by the makers and took a decent share in the profits. 

As per the inside reports, for both the parts of Baahubali, Prabhas took approximately Rs 150 crore as his share in the profits.

Mahesh Babu

Superstar Mahesh Babu started his own production house names GMB Entertainments in 2015 with his blockbuster film, Srimanthudu.

Since then, instead of remuneration, Mahesh Babu is taking the non-theatrical rights of each film as his remuneration. 

But after a long time, Mahesh is not a part of the production for his next project with Trivikram.

As per the sources, Haarika &Haasini Creations banner is paying Rs 50 crore as the actor’s remuneration.

NTR Junior

Earlier, for the 2017 film, Jai Lava Kusa under his brother Kalyan Ram’s production house, 

NTR Arts, Tarak did the film without remuneration just to bail out his brother from financial hurdles. 

Later, news came out that Kalyan Ram himself gave some share in the profits of Jai Lava Kusa to NTR.

Pawan Kalyan

Powerstar Pawan Kalyan, who has established his own production house, 

Pawan Kalyan Creative Works did films like Sardar Gabbar Singh, Katamarayudu on the profits sharing basis by not taking remuneration.

Venkatesh

Being in the industry for more than 25 years, Venkatesh for the first time skipped remuneration and went ahead to sign a profit-sharing deal for films like Babu Bangaram and Guru.

Chiranjeevi

After being in politics for almost a decade, Chiranjeevi made a re-entry into films with the 2016 film, Khaidi No:150. 

As the film was produced by his wife Surekha and son Ram Charan by establishing Konidela Production Company, Chiru did not take any remuneration for the movie.

Nagarjuna

It is well-known that actor Nagarjuna has his own production house, Annapurna Studios. 

He has been producing films under his production house for the last 2 decades and for obvious reasons he will not be taking any remuneration for his films.

Naga Chaitanya

During his initial days in his career, Naga Chaitanya did not take any remuneration for his third film,100% Love.

But, later the film producer Allu Arvind gave a share in the profits.

Ram Charan

Ram Charan, who is away for the profits sharing deal for many years has accepted the deal for his 2016 film, Dhruva. 

As per the sources, the film’s producer Allu Arvind gave a good share in the overall profits of the film.

Jagapathi Babu

Earlier, Jagapathi Babu did many films without taking remuneration. After turned as the character artiste, 

by keeping the past experiences in mind, JB has become very particular about his payment.
