Legendary actress Jamuna passed away.
Reportedly, the senior actress is suffering from age-related complications for the past few years and it is the main reason behind her demise.
She was 87 years. Jamuna is often termed as a powerhouse performer.
She made her acting debut at the age of 16 in Dr. Garikapati Rajarao’s Puttillu and received her breakthrough with L. V. Prasad’s Missamma.
Apart from Telugu, Jamuna also acted in Hindi, Kannada and Tamil films.
Jamuna even had a political career for a few years.
In 1989, she was elected to Look Sabha from Rajahmundry constituency as Indian National Congress ( Congress) candidate.
Later, she even had rapport with BJP during Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s tenure.
On the personal front, Jamuna married Professor Juluri Ramana Rao, a zoology professor in SV University, in 1965.
He died in 2014 due to cardiac arrest at the age of 87.
Jamuna had has a son, Vamsee Juluri and daughter, Sravanthi.
