Throwback to when Sridevi turned down a chance to star in Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park in 1993.
Soon it will be five years since Sridevi, the first female superstar in India, departed for paradise in 2018.
The actress, who dominated Bollywood for many years, drowned to death when in Dubai for Mohit Marwah’s wedding.
On February 24, 2023, the nation will commemorate the actress on the fifth anniversary of her passing.
She made her Bollywood debut in 1978 with “Solva Sawan,” but it wasn’t until five years later, when she co-starred in “Himmatwala” with Jeetendra, that she found commercial success and became well-known.
Returning to Sridevi, few people are aware that she was previously offered a small role in Steven Spielberg’s 1993 Jurassic Park.
You did really hear correctly! She had an invitation from Steven Spielberg to star in Jurassic Park while she was at the height of her acting career, but she declined it because she thought it didn’t fit her stature.
In addition, Sridevi declined to participate in the Shah Rukh Khan-directed film Darr, which also starred Sunny Deol and Juhi Chawla in the key roles.
She had spoken to the media openly on the same,“After Chandni and Lamhe, I feel Darr would have been an ordinary character for me.
If I’m playing Shah Rukh Khan’s role, then of course, I would have loved to do it. The character Juhi played was new for her and so it was good for her. But for me, it was something I had done many times before.”
Sridevi most recently appeared in Zero as a cameo, starring Shah Rukh Khan. Prior to that, she appeared in Mom, to universal acclaim.
