Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbaayi (1996) Touted as a youthful romantic drama, AAIA was directed by reputed director EVV Satyanarayana. Produced by Allu Arvind under his Geetha Arts banner, the film has Pawan Kalyan and ANR’s granddaughter Supriya as the lead pair.
Though the film has impressed Mega fans, box office collections wise the film is an average grosser. As per the industry reports, Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbaayi was made with a budget of Rs 10 crore but failed to achieve the break-even status by the end of its full run.
Gokulamlo Seetha( 1997) Directed by Muthyala Subbaiah, Gokulamlo Seetha is an official remake of the Tamil film, Gokulathil Seethai. Starring Pawan Kalyan and Raasi as the lead pair, the film also has Kota Srinivasa Rao in a key role.
As per the industry sources, Gokulamlo Seetha was made with a budget of Rs 11 crore and managed to collect more than Rs 11 crore at the box office and achieved the break-even target and ended up as a hit at the ticket windows. Songs composed by Koti are received well by the audience.
Suswagatham (1998) The film is an official remake of the Tamil movie Love Today. Directed by Bhimaneni Srinivasa Rao, the film has Pawan Kalyan and Devayani as the lead pair.
Box office verdict wise the film is a hit. SA Rajkumar’s music and songs are a huge hit among the Telugu audience. Super Good Films banner bankrolled the film.
Tholi Prema(1998) Touted as a romantic drama, Tholi Prema was director Karunakaran’s first movie. Produced by GVG Raju, the film has Pawan Kalyan and Keerthi Reddy as the lead pair. Music composed by Deva, the film is one of the biggest hits in those times.
Made with a limited budget, the film generated huge revenues at the box office and ended up as a blockbuster success. The film won the National award for Best Feature Film in the Telugu category and even won Nandi Award for Best Feature Film for that year. Later, Tholi Prema was remade in Hindi as Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai and in Kannada as Preethsu Thappenilla.
Thammudu (1999) Touted as a sports action family drama, Thammudu was directed by PA Arun Prasad. Starring Pawan Kalyan, Preeti Jhangiani and Aditi Govitrikar in the lead roles, the film is a blockbuster success at the box office. Songs composed by Ramana Gogula are a trendsetter in those times.
Made with a budget of Rs 13 crore, the film achieved break-even status in few weeks of the film’s release and ended up as a blockbuster success at the box office. The film was later remade in Tamil, Kannada and Bengali languages.
Badri(2000) Being director Puri Jagannadh’s debut film, Badri is a triangle love story starring Pawan Kalyan, Renu Desai, Amisha Patel in the lead roles.
Made with a budget of Rs 12 crore, the film collected huge revenues at the box office and ended up as a huge hit. The film songs composed by Ramana Gogula are a massive hit among the audience. Puri Jagannadh later remade the film in Hindi as Shart: The Challenge.
Khushi(2001) Touted as a romantic comedy entertainer, Khushi is an official remake of Tamil hit, Kushi. Starring Pawan Kalyan and Bhumika Chawla as the lead pair, the film is a huge hit at the box office.
Music composed by Mani Sharma is the biggest advantage of the film. SJ Suryah directed and AM Ratnam produced Khushi.
Johnny(2003) Pawan Kalyan took almost two years gap after blockbuster Khushi and came made a directional debut with the 2003 film, Johnny. Touted as an action film made on martial arts, the film was produced by Allu Arvind under his Geetha Arts banner.
Though the film ended up as a disaster at the box office, the action sequences in the film choreographed by Pawan Kalyan himself received good applause from the audience.

Directed by Tholi Prema fame Karunakaran, the film failed to repeat the same magic and ended up as a flop at the box office. Reputed producer C Ashwini Dutt bankrolled the film.

Gabbar Singh(2012) Touted as an action comedy film directed by Harish Shankar and produced by Bandla Ganesh under Parameswara Art Productions, Gabbar Singh stars Pawan Kalyan and Shruti Haasan while Abhimanyu Singh, Ajay, Suhasini Maniratnam, Nagineedu and Kota Srinivasa Rao in supporting roles.
The film is an official remake of Salman Khan’s 2010 film, Dabangg and gave a major relief for Pawan Kalyan, who is suffering from back to back failures. Released amidst high expectations, Gopala Gopala ended up as an average grosser at the box office.
Sardar Gabbar Singh(2015) Directed by K. S. Ravindra, the film is produced by Pawan Kalyan, Sharrath Marar and Sunil Lulla jointly under their banners Pawan Kalyan Creative Works, North Star Entertainment and Eros International.
While Pawan Kalyan himself provided the story and screenplay for the film, Sardar Gabbar Singh ended up as a huge disaster at the box office and left the buyers in huge losses.
Katamarayudu(2017) This action drama was directed by Kishore Kumar Pardasani and produced by North Star Entertainment. Starring Pawan Kalyan, Shruti Haasan, Tarun Arora, Siva Balaji, Ajay, Ali, Kamal Kamaraju, Chaitanya Krishna,
Pradeep Rawat, Rao Ramesh, and Nassar appear in key roles, the film is a remake of Tamil film Veeram. Though the film has a good premise, Pawan Kalyan’s mass image became a big minus for the film and ended up as a flop at the box office.
Agnyaathavaasi(2018) Written and directed by Trivikram Srinivas, Agnyaathavaasi was released amidst high expectations among the audience but failed miserably to impress the audience.
Sold for high prices, the film failed to recover even Forty percent of the invested amount and brought huge losses to the buyers. Starring Pawan Kalyan, Keerthy Suresh and Anu Emmanuel as the lead pair, the film has its music by Anirudh.
Vakeel Saab(2021) The film is an official remake of the Hindi hit, Pink. Vakeel Saab is also a comeback film for Pawan Kalyan, who gave a break for the films for almost two years for the 2019 elections.
Released on April 9, 2021, the film faced many problems from the Andhra Pradesh government during its release. Though the film only had hardly a two-week run at the box office due to the Covid second wave, Vakeel Saab has collected close to Rs 80 crore share at the worldwide box office and ended up as a hit.
As of now, Pawan Kalyan has interesting projects such as Bheemla Nayak and Hara Veera Mallu films at the shooting stage. Later, he will be collaborating with Gabbar Singh fame Harish Shankar for a movie and yet another with director Surender Reddy.
