One Friday Night Movie Review and Rating

One Friday Night brings back the 90s pair Raveena Tandon and Milind Soman.

The compelling drama investigates relational intricacies, secrets, and the unexpected turns life can take.

One Friday Night, produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Manish Trehan for Jio Studios, directed by Manish Gupta.

It will be available to stream on Jio Cinema from July 28.

Story : Lata Verma and Ram Verma, (Raveena Tandon and Milind Soman) married for twenty years, have an extramarital relationship with Niru, a business magnate.

He takes his wife to his vacation home, leaving for the airport, while stormy weather develops.

Ram shocks Niru about being two months pregnant at the vacation home and orders the villa's caretaker to buy city treats.

Niru demands Ram to confront his wife about their connection while the villa's caretaker is away, despite Ram's chagrin.

Ram accidentally falls off a balcony by Niru, resulting in a head injury, and the story follows on "One Friday Night."

Performances : Milind Soman and Raveena Tandon's performances in the movie are simple, lacking preparation and excelling in dramatic scenes.

As Niru, Vidhi Chitalia performs the part of a vivacious young woman honestly.

She, too, doesn’t stand out, though, as the movie’s mediocrity ensnares her.

Technicalities : Director Manish Gupta deftly steers clear of theatrics and clichés while dealing with the delicate subject matter.

He allows the narrative to breathe, focusing on protagonists' inner conflicts and ethical dilemmas.

The well-balanced movie allows characters to grow and emotions to simmer, leading to a thought-provoking ending.

It showcases outstanding acting, compelling narrative, and moving photography, with an eerie score enhancing the emotional impact of the story.

Analysis : One Friday Night is a short 85-minute film with a stunning plot surprise at the climax, improving its overall impression.

The writing and execution of One Friday Night are amateurish. Simply put, the dialogues are subpar.

The movie's briefness is hindered by drawn-out scenes and ineffective acting, causing spectators to feel disengaged and disinterested.

Verdict : One Friday Night is a boring thriller drama with mediocre acting.

A lot could have been done to improve the narrative, production, and acting to make the movie more watchable.

Rating : 2.5/5
