Bigg Boss fame, Sohel is ready with his new film Mr. Pregnant.
The film has Roopa Koduvayur as the heroine and has hit the screens today.
Let’s see whether the film lives up to the hype or not.
Story: Gautam(Sohel) is an orphan and a tattoo artist who hates kids.
On the other hand, Mahi(Roopa Kodavayur) is deeply in love with Gautam and proposes marriage to him.
Gautam says yes to Mahi but only one condition is that he does not want kids.
Why did Gautam take such a big decision and what happened to him latest is the basic story.
Performances: For Sohel, it is a dream come true character as he gets to play a pregnant man.
The young actor does well in all his scenes where he is pregnant.
Initially, he overacts in the character of a tattoo artist but once he becomes pregnant, he delivers his best in the climax.
Suhasini Mani Ratnam gets a key role and she was good in it.
The main lead, Roopa is also decent in her role.

As her character is important, Roopa could have been a lot better in all the emotional scenes but she does not create that impact.
Viva Harsha and Brahmaji are hilarious in their roles.
Technicalities: Shravan Bharadwaj has composed the music and he is done a decent job.
Two songs have been shot well. The camerawork showcasing the city set up and also the pregnancy scenes in the hospital are nice.
The lyrics are average and the editing is not that great in the first half. At least ten minutes at the beginning of the film can be trimmed.
he screenplay is neat only in the second half as the emotions work only during this time.
The writing is decent as director Srinivas has chosen a subject that has weight.
This itself sounds interesting as a script. The director Srinivas has chosen a very good subject but how he would narrate it is the big question.
The trailers created a lot of interest and the film has some decent emotions that are not forced and look good.
But to enjoy them, one has to sit through the boring first half an hour.
The intro scenes of the hero, his character, the heroine’s love track, and forced comedy, all look very boring and one gets a feeling of what is going on in the film.
But the moment the main twist the couple getting pregnant and Sohel wanting to carry the child in him comes, things become interesting.
The scenes that follow and how he convinces his wife are neatly showcased.
The character of Suhasini brings a lot of depth to the film and makes us believe in the man becoming pregnant.
The director has done his research and shown male pregnancy with examples.
Also, the manner in which the director brings Brahmaji’s character to create suspicion in the pregnancy is good.
The comedy created during this time is hilarious. The last half an hour of the film is done right and has some beautiful moments.
The climax and the way Sohel talks about the man being pregnant are nicely done and end the film on a good note.
Mr. Pregnant has been made on a decent note but one gets a feeling that if some issues were handled well things would have made a lot of sense.
Like the first half an hour, a better heroine and coming straight to the point were some issues that could have been avoided.
But still, the film has some decent emotions.
Verdict: Overall, Mr. Pregnant has an interesting premise and decent emotions that will hold your attention.
But to enjoy them, one has to sit through the boring first forty-five minutes which is over the top.
If you are okay with this, the film is surely worth a shot.
