Prabhas only received 4 Lakhs as payment for his debut movie. Continue reading as we provide you a thorough report on his pay history.
One of the current highest-paid actors in Indian cinema is Prabhas. When it was revealed that the actor is demanding a staggering 150 crores for his flicks, it recently shattered the internet.
The actor is without a doubt the first pan-Indian star to rule the international scene.
Rajnikanth and Kamal Haasan were formerly pan-Indian stars in the Indian film industry, but Prabhas ruled the box office and became a celebrity across the country.
After him, Allu Arjun, Ram Charan, Jr. NTR, and Yash followed in his footsteps and achieved enormous box-office success, becoming global celebrities.
However, the Baahubali star was the one who paved the path. In an interview, Prabhas admitted that his initial salary for his 2002 first movie, Eeswar, was around 4 lakhs.
The actor persisted in his struggle, working in one movie at a time, till SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali offered him a salary of about 25 crores.
But the sum covered both Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion flicks. However, he has improved by 37490% since his first movie to his most recent one!
It was stated that Prabhas increased his compensation after the films grossed more than 1000 crores at the box office.
After Baahubali 2 in 2017, it was rumored that the actor demanded 100 crores for the Shraddha Kapoor-starring film Saaho.
Sujeeth wrote and directed an action thriller for the movie. The actor mentioned his compensation for Saaho in an interview, but he never verified raising it to 100 crores.
“Bahubali has set the bar high, but Saaho was a Rs 250 crore film, so I knew I couldn’t charge my usual remuneration. I started out with a 20 percent cut.
Then, the film went slightly over, and though my friends were ready to pay up, I couldn’t take their money knowing they were putting in so much without thinking of what they’d earn.”
The actor co-starred with Pooja Hegde in Radhe Shyam after Saaho. He requested his customary 100 crores for the movie, but a source claims he took a pay reduction when the movie failed.
According to a report, “Apparently, Prabhas, who received a whopping Rs 100 Crore for his part in the entertainer,
has returned half of his remuneration in a bid to help the makers who have suffered significant losses as a result of the movie’s utter failure at the box office.”
Prabhas continued to receive the same salary as Adipurush despite Radhe Shyam’s dismal box office performance. He billed Rs. 100 crore for the movie.
Although it was later stated that he increased his fee to 120 crores last year, the most recent sources claim that his fee increased to 150 crores, making Adipurush a 700 crore picture!
150 billion to 4 lakh! Now that’s how success ought to be understood. Prabhas worked for five years on Baahubali for 25 crores, but his pay for Adipurush increased by 500%, making him one of the highest-paid actors in Indian cinema.
He is reportedly working on the slab for Sandeep Reddy’s Spirit and Ashwin Nag’s Project K. The only movie in which he has chosen to accept a profit share is Salaar.
He received 100 crores for the movie and will receive 10% of the revenue. However, he has reduced his salary for his upcoming Telugu movie Raja Deluxe due to financial limitations.
