Kangana Ranaut Reveals She Did ‘Queen’ Only For Money

Kangana Ranaut gave her best performance of her career in Queen, and she advanced to a whole new level as a result.

Today marks nine years since the release of Queen. The movie significantly altered Bollywood and reintroduced female-centric movies into the spotlight. 

Of course, Kangana Ranaut gave her best performance of her career, and after seeing this movie, she reached a whole other level. 

On this ninth anniversary, the actress has revealed some hitherto unheard information about her notable movies, some of which are shocking!

Queen, directed by Vikas Bahl, also stars Lisa Haydon and Rajkummar Rao. Despite having a very small budget, the movie became a great box office success and made enormous profits. 

In fact, it is regarded as one of the year’s biggest blockbusters. The actress has since shared some unknown details about the movie on Twitter.

Kangana Ranaut admitted on Twitter that she only signed Queen for the money and believed it would never be released.

 “After almost a decade of struggle, I was told I am too good an actor to be a leading lady in Bollywood. My curly hair and vulnerable voice made it worse. 

I signed Queen thinking this will never release. I signed it for money. With that money, I attended film school in New York,” she wrote on Twitter.

In a continuation, Kangana Ranaut wrote in another tweet, “In Newyork, I studied screenwriting, directed a small film in California at the age of 24 which gave me a breakthrough in Hollywood, 

after seeing my work a big agency hired me as a director, I buried all my acting ambitions, did not have the courage to return to India.” She even revealed buying a small house on the outskirts of LA. Then Queen was released in theatres, and her life took a 360-degree turn
