Hailing from legendary Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao’s family, NTR Junior was born on May 20th, 1983 to Nandamuri Harikrishna and Shalini.
NTR Junior’s original name was Tarak but while shooting for Brahmarshi Vishwamitra when he was 13, Tarak’s grandfather NT Ramarao changed his name to NTR.
NTR did his schooling at Vidyaranya High, Hyderabad
Though Tarak’s film as an actor is Brahmarshi Vishwamitra, the film was shelved during the shooting stage itself. Later, Tarak made his silver screen debut as a child artist with the 1996 film, Balaramayanam.
In 2001, NTR Junior made his debut as the lead hero with Ninnu Choodalani film but tasted success with his second film, Student No.1 which released in the same year.
NTR is a trained Kuchipudi dancer. He performed in many stage shows during his teenage.
NTR’s favourite movie is his grandfather’s mythological drama, Daana Veera Shoora Karna.

NTR’s Andhrawala is the first-ever Telugu film to have a massive audio launch event at his grandfather NT Ramarao’s village Nimmakuru.
NTR, who used to look chubby in early movies lost almost 20 kilos for the 2007 film, Yamadonga. His slim and trendy look in the film was the talk of the industry back then.
Though Tarak is a good playback singer, for the first time he sung a song in Kannada named Geleya Geleya for Puneeth Rajkumar’s Chakravyuha film.
To date, NTR had won two state Nandi Awards, one Filmfare and three CineMAA Awards.
NTR was one of the star campaigner for the Telugu Desham Party during the 2009 general elections.
On March 26 2009, while returning to Hyderabad after addressing a huge election rally in Khammam, Tarak met with a major accident and was on complete bed rest for almost two months.
Tarak got married to Lakshmi Pranathi in 2011 and the couple is blessed with two kids named Abhay Ram and Bhargava Ram.
Apart from being a foodie, NTR is a brilliant cook. Many of his close friends from the industry say that Tarak himself will cook and serve food items like Biryani, Pizza to the guests.
For the first time NTR is doing a pan-Indian project titled, RRR under the direction of Rajamouli. The film is expected to be out in 2012.
