Kollywood star Dhanush made his Telugu debut with a Tamil-Telugu bilingual project, Sir/Vaathi under the direction of Tollywood director Venky Atluri is well-established news.
Amidst, decent expectations the film was released on February 17th. Opened to postive word of mouth, the film is performing well at the Telugu box office.
As per the trade reports, on the opening day, Sir minted little more than Rs 5 crore gross from twin Telugu states.
Yesterday, on the Mahashivratri festival day, this social drama has collected Rs 6 crore gross, say reports.
Inside reports suggest that Sir has already achieved break-even target at Telugu box office in two days and is likely to maintain the same momentum on Sunday as well.
Looking at the current trend, crossing Rs 20 crore gross mark in Telugu alone is a cakewalk for the film.

Reportedly, Aha management invested huge money to back the Telugu and Tamil post-theatrical streaming rights of Vaathi/SIR. The film is expected to go for digital premieres in the month of March.
