Bambai Meri Jaan Web Series  Review & Rating 

Crime thriller web series ‘Bombay Jaan’ has  been released today on OTT platform  Zee5. 

The series tells the story of the rapidly growing mafia rule in Bombay in the 1970s. The series stars KK Menon and Avinash Tiwari in the lead roles. 

Story: The story of ‘Bombay Meri Jaan’  begins with a fight between the mafia and the police. 

Where all the officers of the police department are in touch with the city mafia Haji Maqbool (Saurabh Sachdev). So Ismail (KK Menon) emerges as an honest police officer.  

Haji Maqbool's legal businesses are shut down with strong intentions, while Ismail's operation succeeds but is suspended due to  an accident.

Now to know whether Ismail is able to get his  job back or not, what kind of situations he  has to  go through to run the house,?  

Performance: KK Menon's portrayal of Ismail Qadri is exceptional, showcasing his well-lived character and making him a commendable actor in this series.

Then Avinash Tiwari has also done very good acting in the role of a gangster, he has shown his acting skills since the series Khaki – The Bihar Chapter. 

Kritika Kamra has also acted well in the role of Habiba. The rest of the actors have also performed well. 

Technicalities: Shujaat Saudagar has taken charge of the direction of this series, he has  tried well to show a crime drama.  

This series has been written by the famous crime journalist S Hussain Zaidi, so it would be better to give him the credit for the goodness of the series. 

Analysis: This 10 episode series continues with the voice over of KK Menon. The series depicts Bombay from the 40s to the 80s. 

During this period, numerous gangsters thrived and Mumbai experienced numerous violent incidents.

However, the series seems clichéd at many places. KK Menon keeps the series interesting  in the first two episodes.

The production department has effectively recreated the series to resemble  the 80s. 

 Abuse has been used extensively in the series, although it also seems unnecessary at many places. 

Verdict: The acting of the actors is superior to the story of the series, despite the latter being equally good.
