Whenever natural calamities occur, the film industry always comes forward to help the victims. Many people have become homeless due to recent floods in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The film industry has come forward to help the victims. All departments of Film Industry joined together to help. On this occasion, a press meet was arranged at the Film Chamber and the action plan of the film industry was explained.
Damodar Prasad, Honorary Secretary of the Chamber said, “Many people are suffering due to floods in Vijayawada and Khammam. Whenever such natural calamities occur, the Telugu film industry always comes forward to help. Also this time also we discussed what kind of assistance would be good. On behalf of Film Chamber, we are announcing a donation of Rs.25 lakhs to AP, Rs.25 lakhs to Telangana. On behalf of Telugu film producers, 10 lakhs to AP, 10 lakhs to Telangana. And 5 lakhs to each Telugu state government on behalf of federation. We are giving the account numbers for the CM Relief Funds of the two states and an account number from the Chamber. Those who want to help can send money to these accounts,” he said.
Senior Producer Daggubati Suresh Babu said… ”Our industry takes the lead in helping people whenever there is any danger. Even now the film industry will stand by. We will try to provide not only money but also essentials. We are providing one crore rupees from our family. We are ready to help anyone who needs any help,” he said.
Director Raghavendra Rao said… ”The reason why we have reached this level is because of people’s support. Now they are in trouble. We should support them in times like these. Also, we have organized this press meet to express our support to the governments that have always stood by us.”
Producer Dil Raju said… ”Everyone knows about floods in Telugu states. Many heroes have already donated. We also decided to help from the Chamber. We are giving hundreds of lakhs to two states from our production company. All those in the industry are requested to come forward and donate to the federation no. We will provide the donations received to the governments”, he said.
Anil, president of the Film Industry Employees Federation, said, “Tomorrow we are arranging a meeting with all the unions. We are planning to pay one day. We are ready to do whatever we can to Telugu states on behalf of our workers,” he said.
Producer Thammareddy Bharadwaj said… ”We have formed a committee from the industry to support the flood victims. The committee will find out the problems of the flood-affected areas in the Telugu states and go ahead to solve them,” he said.
