Released during the Sankranthi festival season, Megastar Chiranjeevi and Ravi Teja starrer Waltair Veerayya directed by Bobby Kolli has minted solid revenues not only in domestic but also at the overseas box office. As per the trade reports, the film has collected close to Rs 135 crore worldwide share and emerged as the Sankranthi 2023 winner at the box office.
At the starting point of the movie, the makers officially announced that digital giant Netflix has acquired the digital rights of the film. Reports also came out that the OTT platform has paid a bomb and acquired the streaming rights of Waltair Veerayya. We had even reported that the film has a fair chance for premieres on Netflix in the month of February.
True to our guess, Waltair Veerayya will be premiering on the OTT platform on February 27th. An official announcement regarding the same came out this afternoon. Co-starring Shruti Haasan and Catherine Tersa in female lead roles opposite Chiranjeevi and Ravi Teja respectively, Waltair Veerayya has its music composed by Devi Sri Prasad. The film was bankrolled by the Mythri Movie Makers banner. Prakash Raj and Bobby Simha are seen in negatively shaded characters in Waltair Veerayya.
Currently, Chiranjeevi is having a project titled, Bholaa Shankar with Meher Ramesh at the shooting stage. Co-starring Tamannaah as the female lead, Bholaa Shankar also has Keerthy Suresh in a key role. As per our sources, for his next project, Chiranjeevi is keen on collaborating with Dhamaka director Trinadharao Nakkina. DVV Danayya will be bankrolling it. Apart from it, Chiranjeevi has a project with director Maruthi and UV Creations in the pipeline.
