Rahul Roy’s acting debut, Walk, is been praised highly at numerous film festivals.

For his most recent picture, “Walk,” acclaimed director Dr. Nitin Kumar Gupta won the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke picture Award 2022–2023 at the recent Maharashtra International Film Festival in Mumbai. On Maharashtra Day, when 14 creative minds from all over India were honoured, Dr. Nitin was given the prize for best film director.

The difficult journey of migrant labourers during the pandemic-induced lockdown is the focus of the movie “Walk,” in which Rahul Roy and Archana Puran Singh star. The movie was well-received by critics and took home the Best Feature Film prize at the Jammu Film Festival. Roshan, the main character, is portrayed by Rahul Roy, who also received praise for a job well done.

Rahul Roy said, “I am proud of the journey that Dr. Nitin Kumar Gupta has taken as a filmmaker and his commitment to create social awareness through his films. He made me and Archana Puran Singh work beyond our images and accomplish something extraordinary.”

The comeback journey of the Aashiqui star has been nothing short of motivational. Roy experienced a cerebral haemorrhage while filming Dr. Nitin’s “L.A.C.” in Kargil in November 2020. Roy made his way back in front of the camera for “Walk” with the same filmmaker a year later after a long healing procedure.

“Roshan is forced to carry his deceased friend’s son through 1,000 miles of lockdown territory. I was excited to portray the emotional nuances of his journey and the transformation he goes through.”

Dr. Nitin is appreciative of the chance to work on two films with Roy and has nothing but appreciation for the actor’s zeal and perseverance. He said, “Our films earning back to back awards is a testament to Rahul Roy’s determination and hard work.”

Rahul Roy has a sequel to one of his “big films” in the works, so his followers may look forward to more of his work. With “Walk” winning awards at film festivals and Rahul Roy’s motivational comeback, Dr. Nitin Kumar Gupta’s directing effort is proof of the strength of resiliency and persistence in the face of difficulty.
