Suriya made a strong comeback with Veerabhadrudu, which collected around Rs. 350 crore worldwide. He then arrived with Vishwanath And Sons, his first straight Telugu film, directed by Venky Atluri and produced by Naga Vamsi.
The film created good buzz before release due to its trailer, Suriya’s comeback and Mamitha Baiju’s presence. Despite mixed talk on the first day, it opened well and reached break-even by the weekend. The film continued to perform well during its first week and second weekend.

Vishwanath And Sons had a worldwide theatrical business of Rs. 63.5 crore and needed Rs. 64 crore share for break-even. The film achieved break-even by the weekend despite mixed talk. After 10 days, it collected Rs. 95.47 crore share and Rs. 172.7 crore gross worldwide, making a profit of Rs. 31.47 crore.
