Vipul Shah recently discussed his decision to stop collaborating with Akshay Kumar in an interview.
One of Bollywood’s multi-talented filmmakers, Vipul Amrutlal Shah, also known as Vipul Shah, has produced back-to-back blockbusters with Akshay Kumar. Vipul and Akshay worked together for the first time on their debut production, Aankhen (2002), which went on to become a tremendous box-office success. Since then, the team has collaborated on other projects, such as Action Replayy (2010), Namastey London (2007), and Waqt: The Race Against Time (2005).
However, the team’s collaboration quickly came to an end following Action Replayy. Vipul recently talked about what went wrong between them and the reasons he stopped working with Akki in an interview.
Vipul Shah reflected on those times in an interview, saying, “Now that I think about it, I think that it was a really long period of time when we continuously worked together on a non-stop basis. Then I understood that I needed to collaborate with other performers and that it would be beneficial for both of us. I first went outside at that point. Working together with Akshay became effortless. It was therefore natural for me to think about him whenever I was writing or considering a subject. I began developing my characters while incorporating Akshay’s writing style.
The director denied any allegations when questioned about the alleged fallout between them. There is no unpleasant feeling, according to Vipul Shah. I never argue with anyone. I’m a very happy and peaceful person. In my entire career, I have never been in a fight. People in the business tend to assume that something must have happened when you stop working with someone and think, “Something must have gone wrong, otherwise why aren’t they working together!” But that’s how things are now.
Later, Vipul promised that he would work with Akshay Kumar once more when the time and project were appropriate. However, when asked if he would participate in the Aankhen sequel if it were to ever be made, Vipul Shah replied, “Even if Aankhen 2 happens, I’m not going to be a part of it. I granted the producer the script’s copyright. I was merely the film’s director at the time, not a producer. I don’t want to participate in it right now.
