Vinaya Vidheya Rama

Vinaya Vidheya Rama is one of the most awaited films of the year. Ram Charan after Rangasthalam came up with this movie and his combination with Boyapati Srinu is also highly anticipated. Let’s discuss what they pulled off …

Plot: Rama (Ram Charan) has to fight against a tough monster, Raja Bhai (Vivek Oberoi) and also save his family from his goons. His elder brother is election officer, Bhuvan Kumar (Prashanth), who is feared by many for his tough nature. Rama is his biggest strength in being fearless at the same time, his weakness. Rama in order to save his brother and family has to fight with Raja. How he wins against him forms the rest of the film.

Performances:: Ram Charan as an actor gave a career high in Rangasthalam and immediately he gave his lowest low, in this movie. He cannot blamed though as Boyapati Srinu did not write a character for him.

Kiara Advani might have felt being exploited for the kind of scenes and close-up shots she needed to act in. Sneha, Prashanth, Vivek Oberoi, Aryan Rajesh and others just overacted as much as they can.

Technicalities:: Rishi Punjabi, Arthur Wilson seems to have been asked to go around the world and choose some exotic tough locations to shoot fights. They did so but they too did not understand the necessity behind them.

Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao, Thammiraju couldn’t understand what really Boyapati Srinu wanted. Some scenes seem like they have been stitched together on editing table.

Devi Sri Prasad as a music director seems to be the best reactor to the scripts. In Rangasthalam, he tried to better the film and himself. Here, he just showed that he is flexible to bring worst out of him too, if script demands.

Boyapati Srinu tried hard to make us believe with this movie that he can go completely senseless to ridiculous heights in making an action film. He believes in masala more than MTR Garam Masala sellers and we have seen in past such people falling flat on the back of their popular indulgences.

He did too. He just couldn’t come out of the logicless fights and cringe worthy humour rather believed that his movie should be filled with it. The sensibility of a person who made Bhadra is no longer alive in him. This is just his lazy sense of making and over-confidence.

Analysis:: A movie is all about making us believe in the world it creates so that we can forget the reality and live in it. There is no way we can handle the make believe factor taken too much for granted without giving audiences any respect. Boyapati Srinu made a film that he will try to forget hard but no one will let him. With so much going in favour of him, he thought he can do anything in the name of heroism and emotions. Don’t waste your money to give his ego a boost.
