Kollywood star Vikram is currently working on a project under the direction of Pa.Ranjith is well-established news. Titled Thangalaan, the film’s shooting is underway at a fast pace.
Meanwhile, the latest we hear from our sources is that digital giant Netflix has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of Thangalaan. Reportedly, Netflix management has closed the deal by investing Rs 35 crore.
Said to a rural drama, in the first look poster of Thangalaan, Vikram is seen in a different getup holding a traditional Billhook in hand. This said-to-be period drama has Parvathy Thiruvothu, Malavika Mohanan, Pasupathy, and Harikrishnan Anbudurai in key roles.
While GV Prakash Kumar is composing soundtracks, Thangalaan has cinematography by A Kishor Kumar and editing by Selva RK. Tamil Prabha is co-writer and providing screenplay for the film.
Being bankrolled by KE Gnanavel Raja under his Studio Green banner in association with Neelam Productions, Thangalaan will have a simultaneous release in Telugu as well sometime in 2023.
