A lot was talked about the background score at the time of Vikram’s release. The movie is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, of Khaidi and Master fame, and was released on 3rd June. The film went on to become the highest-grossing film of all time in Tamil and turned out to be a good hit in Telugu also. Vikram features Kamal Haasan in the lead role, while Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil are seen in important roles. Suriya is also a part of the film and stole the show in his extended cameo.
The OST of the film has been released today. Composed by Anirudh Ravichander, the OST features 21 music numbers in total, all of which can be heard playing at some point or the other in the film. Without a doubt, the ‘Moaning Theme’ from the film was the most talked about, for its sheer uniqueness, in the fact that nothing like that was ever attempted before.
Vikram will be available to stream on Disney Hotstar from midnight tonight, on July 8th. There’s a lot of buzz surrounding the film’s OTT release as well, and it is now to be seen how the film will fare on OTT, given that it has collected over Rs. 200 Crores worldwide, and has become one of the top grossing films in India this year.
