Vikram, who recently enjoyed success with “Thangalaan”, shared personal details in an interview. He reminisced about meeting his wife, Shailaja, for the first time while he was on crutches.
Vikram also discussed how she initially didn’t support his acting career and the challenges of their interfaith marriage.
He talked about the differences between him and his wife, saying, “She always sees things clearly unless she’s upset with me, then nothing makes sense”.
“We’re very different if I want the air conditioner on, she doesn’t even want a fan, I like flashy clothes, and she questions it. Her family includes poets and scholars, while I’m just an actor”.
“In the beginning, she tried to change me, but I told her that acting was my first love and you are my second love, and if she couldn’t accept that, our relationship wouldn’t work. She even hoped some of my films wouldn’t succeed, but now she’s very invested in their success”.
Vikram also shared that since their marriage, his wife has been his constant source of support. He described her as an angel who helps others and said, “When I first saw her, I felt something special. She later told me that she felt a connection and knew I was the one for her.”
