Ilayathalapathy Vijay, is also a known face for Telugu audience too. He has been well received in movies like Thuppakki and many know him as a remake hero of Telugu movies in Tamil. He remade movies like Pokiri, Okkadu, Athanokkade, Azaad and many more. Even his films like Khushi, Siva kasi were also remade in Telugu. Recently, he started looking to expand his market in Telugu as well by releasing films simultaneously like Suriya and Vikram. Even Thuppakki was a hit, it worked more because of A.R. Murugadoss and Vijay got a recognition but he was unable to utilize the momentum.
His next big hit, Kaththi is being remade as Khaidi No. 150 in Telugu.He released to dubbed films Puli and Policeodu. Puli became a disaster both in Telugu and Tamil, while Policeodu, dubbed version of Theri, recovered costs. Dil Raju production released it in Telugu. Even though it was a major blockbuster in Tamil this year it did not receive enough response. Without losing heart Vijay is trying again to test his luck.
Vijay, is looking to release his Vijaya Productions film, Bairavaa, planned for Pongal to be released simultaneously in Telugu for Sankranthi. The film cast includes Keerthy Suresh as leading lady and with her popularity in Telugu, Vijay wants to use the festival advantage. But Sankranthi season has been tightly packed with two major releases, Khaidi No 150 and Gautamiputra Satakarni. Will he find theaters is a big question?!
