Vijay Sethupathi walks out of 800

It is very well known that a biopic titled 800 is being made on Srilanka’s legendary mystery spinner Muttiah Muralitharan. The spinner is known for taking 800 test wickets which is almost impossible for any bowler. The biopic on Muralitharan has been launched and versatile actor Vijay Sethupathi was to reprise the role of Muralitharan, but not anymore.

Since the first look of Vijay Sethupathi’s from the movie was released, a few political parties along with some movie personalities have objected to Vijay Sethupathi acting in the film. With the controversy getting bigger, Muralitharan came into the picture and requested Vijay not to act in the movie.

“Vijay is having a beautiful career. With this biopic, he might face difficulties in the future, so I asked him not to do the movie and he agreed,” revealed Muralitharan.

Now, the team will search for another suitable actor to reprise the mystery spinner.
