Vijay Sethupathi Says That Negative Roles He Plays Should Have Ethics

In a recent interview, he was asked about his approach to playing villain roles. Vijay Sethupathi explained, “There are many things I avoid, depending on the story. Even an antagonist should have ethics.”

He further added, “The role shouldn’t hurt anyone’s feelings.

Actors and directors may have different views, but films are made for everyone, so we must be careful. For instance, we shouldn’t promote superstitions.

Sometimes, we show bad things to highlight the good, but even then, ethics are important because cinema can influence people.”
