Fans of Thalapathy Vijay in the Tamil film industry are expressing their discontent towards Superstar Rajinikanth for his recent remarks about their hero and his film, Beast. During the audio launch event of Rajinikanth’s upcoming action thriller, Jailer, he revealed that distributors had advised him to replace director Nelson Dilipkumar from the project after the release of Beast, which received negative reviews.
Rajinikanth, however, clarified that Beast’s poor reviews didn’t lead to financial losses for its distributors. Vijay’s fans are particularly upset because they feel Rajinikanth openly acknowledged Beast’s failure while not mentioning the underperformance of his own film, Annatthe, which fared worse in terms of revenue compared to Beast.
This perceived bias has left Vijay’s fans feeling unfairly targeted and has caused a stir in the fandom. Jailer, starring Rajinikanth, is slated for a grand worldwide release on August 10th. Despite Rajinikanth’s clarification about Beast’s financial success, the controversy surrounding his comments has fueled the dissatisfaction among Vijay’s fans. They believe Rajinikanth’s remarks have tarnished their hero’s image and have not given due credit to Beast’s revenue achievements, leading to heightened tensions between the two fan bases in the Tamil film industry.
