Vijay Deverakonda’s latest film Kingdom is showing impressive performance at the box office, even with heavy competition. Released in a crowded season, the film managed to hold its ground and earn decent collections, thanks to Vijay’s strong fan base and screen presence.
Just before Kingdom, Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu hit the screens and opened to strong collections. Soon after, Mahavatar Narsimha also released and turned out to be a surprise hit, adding more pressure to Kingdom’s performance.
Despite the competition, Kingdom saw solid collections on Thursday and Friday. In the USA, it became Vijay Deverakonda’s biggest opener, collecting ₹39 crore gross on its first day which is an impressive feat for any Indian film in such a packed release window.
The makers had anticipated competition from films like War 2, Coolie, and Hari Hara Veera Mallu. However, Mahavatar Narsimha’s unexpected blockbuster success, with over ₹20 crore share, split the audience and impacted Kingdom’s earnings more than expected.
Even then, Kingdom stood out with its stylish presentation and became a box office hit. It managed to break even in key territories within a short period, showing strong performance across regions.
The film also entered profit zones in Tamil and Malayalam markets, thanks to Vijay’s pan-Indian popularity. This marks another success for producer Naga Vamsi, following films like Daaku Maharaj and Guntur Kaaram, which also did well despite box office competition.
