Actor Vijay Deverakonda has opened out about the commercial failure of his Bollywood debut film, “Liger,” which is getting a lot of positive feedback for its trailer.
The actor revealed that ‘Liger’ is not his first failure and that he has had many flops earlier in his career, just as he has had numerous hit films, at the unveiling of the ‘Kushi’ trailer here on Wednesday.
Vijay Deverakonda told the media, “It does hurt when a film doesn’t work. I have experienced many flops in the past, and ‘Liger’ is not the first one. I have also had many hits before. I will continue to experience both flops and hits, because ultimately we are trying to tell stories
As a creative individual, Vijay Deverakonda continued, he wants to tell as many stories as he can, but doing so entails taking numerous risks. He still does it every time and gives it his best, though, despite the hazards.
“My lifestyle is to fully commit to something creative,” Vijay added. “My ambition is to pursue it constantly.”
Puri Jagannadh wrote and directed the sports action movie “Liger – Saala Crossbreed.” The movie, which was concurrently filmed in Hindi and Telugu, features Vijay Deverakonda as the stammering MMA fighter Liger, along with Ananya Panday as his love interest.
Aside from Mike Tyson, who played an extended cameo, the movie also stars Ramya Krishna and Ronit Roy in significant roles.
When asked about the emotional impact of a film’s failure, the actor said that while it does hurt when the outcomes are not what was anticipated, he is unfazed by it.
“I have no fear of failing. When a film doesn’t work, it hurts, but it doesn’t stop me from trying again. I don’t mind falling down, Vijay Deverakonda stated.
The movie “Kushi,” in which Samantha Ruth Prabhu plays Vijay’s love interest, will debut in theatres on September 1.
