Vijay Devarakonda used to be the first person to donate for any cause and he even did give gifts in the name of Devarakonda Santa to many. He introduced mobile free ice creams and water supply during Summers as well. So, when he did not react immediately to Corona Crisis Charity fund and donate amounts, many said that as he doesn’t have any movie coming up, he is silent on the issues.
Proving them all wrong, he came up with Middle Class Fund to help people who don’t belong to low income group but live on work based salaries that is self-employed middle class families. He said he belonged to such family until he attained name or success. So, he pledged 25 lakhs to help 2000 families with groceries. He asked only absolutely needy to take this option. He requested them to donate if they can after the crisis is over.
The most important announcement from him is that he started THE Devarakonda Foundation and through that he is looking to create youth who can be employed by improving their skill sets. He started doing it already last year and kept it a secret till date. He pledged Rs. 1 crore funds to this program to create employment opportunities looking at their potential post lockdown. He asked people to keep hope alive about good times and made a promise that he will always be thinking about them.
