Vijay Devarakonda Chooses Simplicity Over Star Tag

Vijay Devarakonda unlike many stars who use tags like “Mega Star” or “Power Star”, once chose to go with the unique title “The” before his name.

However, this decision led to unexpected backlash. In a recent interview, Vijay shared that no other actor faced such negativity for using a tag, even though many have them.

Despite pressure from his team during the Liger promotions and media calling him names like “Rowdy Star” or “Southern Sensation,” Vijay initially resisted using a tag.

But eventually, he gave in and added “The” before his name. Unfortunately, the response was more negative than he anticipated. So he decided to drop it and stick to using just his name staying true to what he originally believed in.

His upcoming film Kingdom directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri and starring Bhagyashree Borse as the female lead, is set to release on July 31st. Music is composed by Anirudh.
