Vijay Devarakonda as ANR?

Right from the inception of the movie, Savitri, biopic on legendary Telugu actress Savitri, many had been thinking about the casting choices of the director Naga Ashwin in the roles of the great actors like NTR and ANR in the movie. Some thought Naga Chaitanya and Jr. NTR will play the roles of their respective grand fathers. But that did not turn out to be true.

The team started filming with Keerthy Suresh as Savitri and Samantha Akkineni as a senior journalist who explores the story of Savitri. Recently, makers took Shalini Pandey as Jamuna and Mohan Babu as SVR for Mayabazaar and other young films of Savitri. Also, director Krrish and Tharun Bhascker got some roles to play as famous directors, K.V. Reddy and Singeetham Srinivas Rao in the movie. Prakash Raj is said to be playing the role of writer and producer, the creator of Vijaya Productions and Chandamama Combines, Chakrapani.

Now, the rumour is that after Dulquer Salmaan shot for most of his portions as Gemini Ganeshan, team needed to shoot some important sequences with ANR character as well. So, they roped in Vijay Devarakonda, friend of Naga Ashwin to do the role. The actor who is busy with multiple projects accepted the role and shot for few days as per the sources. The team hasn’t confirmed anything when contacted.
