Vicky Kaushal And Rashmika Film A Song With 700 Dancers

As more information about “Chhaava” comes out, it’s clear that Laxman Utekar is going all out to make this film, starring Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna, a big success. The historical drama features the two stars as Chatrapati Sambhaji and his wife Yesubai, with a key scene involving the king’s coronation ceremony. A song composed by AR Rahman has been specially created for this event, and it’s being produced on a grand scale.

Everything has been carefully researched, including the music, which draws inspiration from traditional Marathi folk music. AR Rahman has incorporated specific elements typical of songs from that era, using instruments like the dholaki and tuntune. The lyrics are based on a famous Marathi poem style called Powada, which celebrates kings.

Choreographer Vijay Ganguly, who worked on the “Stree 2” songs, organized over 1,500 people to create a crowd scene for the coronation celebration. The entire city of Raigad is depicted as coming together to celebrate Sambhaji’s coronation. Vicky’s character will be seen participating in rituals while his subjects rejoice, and later, he and Rashmika join in the festivities. This will be the film’s only dance number, with other songs playing in the background.

The coronation scene will include 700 background dancers and was filmed on a set designed to resemble Raigad Fort in Maharashtra over four days. The official coronation took place on January 16, 1681, at Raigad Fort. During the research for “Chhaava”, a London newspaper article described the coronation as a vibrant event, helping the director recreate it. In the song, Vicky’s character Sambhaji will perform rituals, while Yesubai conducts the Rajabhishek and aarti. As the kingdom celebrates, the king is seen finally taking the throne.

Starring Akshaye Khanna as Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, “Chhaava” is a historical drama set in the 17th century, inspired by the novel of the same name by Shivaji Sawant. It is set to be released on December 6th.
