Sreenivasan passed away on the morning of December 20th, leaving cinema fans deeply saddened. Many celebrities have paid tribute with Rajinikanth’s message standing out.
In a voice message, Rajinikanth said, “This news is a big shock. Sreenivasan was my good friend. We studied together at the Cinema Institute. He was a great actor and an even better human being. May his soul rest in peace”. He added that Sreenivasan’s memories will live on through his films.
Sreenivasan began his career in the 1970s and remained active in Malayalam cinema for over 50 years acting in more than 200 films.
Known for his humor and acting skills he also wrote stories and dialogues. Tamil audiences remember him for his role in Lesa Lesa alongside Vivek.
Born in 1956 in Kannur he won a National Award and several Kerala state awards. He is survived by his sons Dhyan and Vineeth Sreenivasan, who are emerging actors in Malayalam cinema.
