Venkatesh Adavallu Meeku Joharlu shelved!

Venkatesh has been one hero since the start of his career to come up with different films and had been catering to lady audience in particular so that his films can be watched by entire film rather than betting huge on masala entertainers. He had many successes over the years with Suryavamsam, Pavitra Bandam, Intlo Ilalu Vantaintlo Priyuralu, Kalisundam Raa, Malliswari, Aduvaari Maatalaku Ardhale Verule, Vasantham, Lakshmi and Sankranthi owing to popularity among the female audience. Recently, he started concentrating on roles that suit his age and also multi starrers without going for any egos. He can still turn on the heat on screen with his fearsome acting like the new Guru trailers promise.But during this transition period from being a top hero to senior artist he had few ups and downs with films like Seethamma Vakitlo Srimalle Chettu and Gopala Gopala with other top stars Mahesh and Pawan Kalyan working at the box office while Masala with Ram turned out to be a disaster.

He tried a father character in Drushyam and a police officer in Babu Bangaram, both the movies recovered costs but did not become the successes they were expected to be. His latest Guru, another remake movie of his, has been completed and postponed to Summer season for release. He was supposed to start his next with Nenu Shailaja fame Kishore Tirumala but the project is now heard to be shelved as the actor is not too keen on doing the similar kind of roles he did through out his career. Apparently, he was inspired by Dangal, Sultan and other bollywood big star movies who are trying different subjects and roles suited their age. So Venky too asked the directors like Krish and Puri Jagannath to bring such stories that suits his age. He is nearing 75 films and he wants each of his films before he decides to be a character artist like Amitabh Bachchan to be special and noteworthy going forward. Well, for his next film he is in talks with Puri Jagannath and wants to get the script right before he goes forward with it.
