Varun Tej is one commercial hero who chose to make a name as a performer over box office status right from his first movie. He made an interesting choice to debut with Srikanth Addala’s Mukunda and then silently, completed his movie with Krish, Kanche. In his short career of three movies, Kanche stood out with a National Award and considerable box office returns.After the debacle of his movie with Puri Jagannadh, Loafer, that was expected to be his big commercial break, he chose to take a different route by accepting to start two movies, Mister and Fida with two struggling directors, Srinu Vaitla and Shekhar Kammula simultaneously.
Srinu Vaitla, who was recognised to be one of the top directors till the release of Aagadu and BruceLee is hell bent on returning back to his prime like he did with his Dhee.Shekar Kammula after Leader, did two movies Life is Beautiful and Anamika, but both flopped at the box office and the talented director, looked like loosing his touch. With Fida, he promised to be returning to his touch with a cool breezy love story, marking Premam Sai Pallavi’s debut in Telugu. Both the movies came to a halt with Varun Tej’s leg injury while shooting for Mister in Ooty.
Lavanya Tripathi was selected as the heroine for the movie and she waited without accepting another film for the hero to get better and get back into action. After 50 days of bed rest Varun resumed shooting for Mister first and after completing a schedule he is shooting for Fida now. To make up for the lost time, the actor is putting extra efforts it seems to complete the projects as soon as possible. Mister was supposed to release this December and Fidaa was slated for a Valentine’s Day release.
