Varun Tej is gearing up for the third schedule of his upcoming film “Matka” directed by Karuna Kumar. Due to the release plans for “Operation Valentine” and the shoot of “Matka” preceding its release, Varun needs to regrow his hair and beard for the earlier film.
Information from sources reveals that Varun will portray a character at three different life stages – 20, 30, and 50 years old in this action-packed film set in a vintage backdrop. For the role of a 50-year-old, Varun plans to authentically portray an out-of-shape appearance by growing a real belly without the use of prosthetics.
This unique challenge requires him to take a substantial schedule gap after one more shoot, during which he’ll focus on gaining weight by consuming large quantities of food.
If successful, Varun’s dedication to transforming his physique may draw parallels to Amir Khan’s portrayal in “Dangal,” where the actor underwent a similar physical transformation from a bulky physique to a six-pack for different phases of the film. It remains to be seen how Varun Tej will execute this challenging feat in his role as a mega hero.
