Varun Dhawan discusses his experience portraying the role of Bhasker, a werewolf, in Bhediya.
Many actors have the part of a werewolf on their bucket list because it combines magical realism, fantasy, and drama. Bollywood sensation Varun Dhawan is no exception. The actor said that playing the titular wolf in his movie “Bhediya” helped him become a better actor.
The horror-comedy “Bhediya” recounts Bhaskar’s (Varun Dhawan) life after he is bitten by the fabled beast in the deep forests of Arunachal Pradesh. It is full of amusing and terrifying travesties. Bhaskar and his companions embark on a quest to get some much-needed answers when Bhaskar mysteriously transforms into the shape-shifting werewolf. This quest only results in additional twists, turns, and lots of laughs.
About the film he said, ‘Bhediya’ is not just an exciting werewolf tale but an emotional rollercoaster that promises to keep you hooked. Playing Bhaskar was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that enriched me tremendously as an actor. I can still remember the excitement I felt when I first read the script. The movie, which was directed by Amar Kaushik, also features Deepak Dobriyal and Abhishek Banerjee. ‘Bhediya,’ a production of Jio Studios and Maddock Films, will start streaming on JioCinema on May 26, 2023.
