It is widely known that Thalapathy Vijay joined forces with Tollywood director Vamshi Paidipally for a film titled, Varisu. Produced by top Telugu producer Dil Raju, the film had a theatrical release on January 11th as a Pongal festival special. Varisu had a Telugu version released on January 14th as Vaarasudu is also well-established news.
Vaarasudu/ Varisu also has Sharathkumar, Jayasudha, Srikanth, Kick Shyam, and Prakash Raj among others in prominent roles. Varisu has Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead. Thaman is the music composer for this family entertainer.
Opened to mixed reports, cashing in on Vijay’s stardom and the festival season, Varisu minted a worldwide gross of Rs 300 crore. While the Telugu version, Vaarasudu collected close to Rs 17 crore share and ended up as a decent hit, the Tamil version is most likely to end up as an above-average grosser considering the high costs and stake involved.
Meanwhile, the latest buzz circulating on social media is that for his next project, Vamshi Paidipally is keen on collaborating with Vijay yet again. As per the inside reports, this time Vamshi Paidipally is gearing up to do an intense actioner. However, an official announcement regarding the film is yet to be out.
Currently, Vijay is busy shooting for Lokesh Kanagaraj’s highly-anticipated film, LEO. Co-starring Trisha as the female lead, this project from Lokesh Cinematic Universe ( LCU) has Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt in the antagonist role. LEO is being produced by Lalit Kumar and is scheduled for a pan-India release on October 19, 2023.
