It is well-known that the distributors and exhibitors across the state of Andhra Pradesh are unhappy with the government’s new GO issued on ticket rates.
While many see it as a political grudge by the ruling YSRCP government on Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy’s rivalry Pawan Kalyan, none of the Tollywood bigwigs responded to the issue or even tried to hold talks with the government regarding the same. Due to the new GO, Vakeel Saab has lost close to Rs 8 crore revenue in the first three days in Andhra and Rayalaseema regions, opinion trade analysts.
But the real sufferers in the above scenario are innocent buyers, who are going to face huge losses due to the new decision.
Already, a few theatres in Vizaganagaram district were closed as a token of agitation. Now, the latest news is that the movie theatres across East Godavari district are going to be shut permanently until the Andhra Pradesh government steps back on the ticket prices GO. As per the reports, all cinema halls in the district are going to be closed from April 16th.
Trade circles also confirm that the buyers are going to make it as a statewide agitation very soon if the response of the government remains the same.
