Utkarsh Sharma Reveals he Took Urdu Lessons for Gadar 2; Calls it a Big Film!

Gadar 2 actor Utkarsh Sharma said he learned Urdu for the film and is getting ready for its release.

The son of Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel’s character in the 2001 film “Gadar: Ek Prem Katha,” actor Utkarsh Sharma, is currently preparing for the sequel to the movie. To play the part more convincingly, the actor learned Urdu.

The movie was filmed in Lucknow, which serves as the backdrop, and according to the script, Utkarsh had to spend a month learning Urdu in order to perfect his character’s speech. The producers brought seasoned and well-known actor-tutor Shaukat Mirza to the set for the duration of the filming. Utkarsh used to sit with Mirza during breaks to practise speaking and pronouncing Urdu dialogues.

Talking about the film Utkarsh said, “Gadar 2 is a big film not just for me but for everyone involved. The 2001 film has the emotions of millions of Indians attached to it, thus if we are taking that legacy forward, we have to do this with utmost sincerity”.

He further mentioned: “Considering the backdrop of the film, my character’s language is Punjabi but he has to speak in Urdu as well, which couldn’t go wrong. It was important to me that I learn the language and its diction with utmost honesty and I hope that it has come out on the screen as well. I can’t wait for the audience to see the film and get their honest feedback.”
