Urvashi Rautela Lashes Out at Trollers

The unfavourable comments Urvashi Rautela received when she wore a Cartier crocodile necklace to Cannes 2023 are discussed here.

With her Cannes 2023 attire, Urvashi Rautela aroused eyebrows and caused heads to turn. Whether it was the orange sequin-frill gown by designer Tarik Ediz, the pink tulle gown by Sima Couture, or the white and blue corseted gown with exaggerated off-shoulder, each of her looks and how she styled it grabbed headlines. While many people adored them, some also made fun of them.

The former beauty queen’s pink ruffled dress from her second Cannes appearance, which she accessorised with Cartier’s Intertwining Crocodiles gold, diamond, and emerald necklace, became the talk of the town. The actress said in a recent conversation that this item of jewellery is proudly displayed in Cartier’s collection of antique jewellery.

Recently Urvashi Rautela talked about her Cannes 2023 look and said, “People, who don’t have the right information, those are the people who are writing bizarre comments about it (her necklace). But people, who know about the history of that jewellery, it is such an iconic piece, they will absolutely fall in love with the crocodile neckpiece.” “Actually, it is a very iconic piece… You actually have to read about it; it is very historic. In fact, I wasn’t aware of this, but I got to know that it was worn by Monica Bellucci back in 2006 at Cannes. I had absolutely no idea about it.”

In Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ, Monica Bellucci played Mary Magdalene. She also played a Bond girl in Spectre, Persephone in The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions, among other roles. At Cannes, Monica wore the Cartier crocodile necklaces twice: once in 2006, when it was first introduced, and again in 2019, when it was updated.

When it comes to luxury jewellery, the intertwined crocodiles necklace is one of Cartier’s most renowned creations. The magnificent necklace from the French company was created in 1975 and has two crocodiles on it. One crocodile is made of 18-karat yellow gold and has more than 1,000 brilliant-cut fancy vivid yellow diamonds, according to a 2018 Forbes report, while the other is made of 18-karat white gold and contains 1,060 emeralds weighing 66.86 carats. According to reports, the yellow-gold crocodile is set with 60.02 carats worth of diamonds.
