Upendra, known for his unique and unconventional films is now back with his latest project, “UI”. In this film, he takes on the dual role of director and actor. Today, the team unveiled a new teaser titled “Warner”, sparking curiosity about the movie’s story.
Set in 2040, the teaser begins with a thought-provoking statement: “World leaders gave us Global Warming, COVID-19, Inflation, AI, Unemployment, and Wars”.
The story showcases a dystopian world where people fight and die over basic needs like a single piece of fruit. The government distributes rice balls and mobile phones as if they were flood relief supplies, while people struggle to survive, even scavenging for food near dead bodies.
Despite technological progress, the stark contrast between the wealthy elite and the suffering masses paints a grim picture of the future.
Upendra plays a ruthless dictator, adding intensity to the film’s dark satire. “UI” promises to deliver a hard-hitting commentary on current societal issues and a chilling vision of India’s future. The movie is slated for a worldwide release on December 20.
The film is produced by Lahari Films LLP and Venus Entertainers, with music composed by Ajaneesh Lokanath.
