N. Shankar is known for his revolutionary subjects and also action flicks like Bhadrachalam and Jayam Manadera. After Jai Bolo Telangana, the producer-writer and director took time off to make another film and finally, bought the remake rights for a Malayalam movie, Two Countries, starring Dileep and Mamatha Mohandas. The movie became a huge hit in Kerala and the director has expressed that it will be much bigger hit here too. He talked to media today and told what made him do this movie and what we should look out for.

He said, “I saw Sunil’s earlier films and thought he would be apt for this movie. He accepted the offer immediately and I did all the necessary changes that our audience will accept before going to him. Gopi Sundar the original music director gave unique sound to the film and he even gave us good Back Ground score. He told us and even the original makers that the Telugu version is better than the Malayalam one and I loved the way he composed the score. Even audiences will be thrilled too.”

He later talked about how he ended up casting, Manisha Raj as the heroine. He said, “I did try many actresses in Telugu but they rejected due to various reasons. It was a good character and in original, Mamatha Mohandas got huge name than even Dileep and such character should not go to anyone. So, we conducted a talent hunt in USA and selected, Mithali Raj, who came as a singer. Her performance is too good and she will be the highlight of our film after, story and Sunil.” The director expressed great confidence that Sunil after this film will continue to do as the lead as a hero. Two countries is releasing on 29th of December.
