Kamal Haasan faced a tough phase with many films failing at the box office but he made a comeback with Vikram. After that huge success director Nag Ashwin selected him to play the main villain in Kalki 2898 AD.
Initially planned as a single film the makers later decided to release it in two parts. Since most of Kamal Haasan’s scenes are in the second part, he completed his work for the first part in less than ten days.
For both parts, he agreed to a remuneration of Rs. 50 crore. Recently rumors claimed he charged Rs. 150 crore and Rs. 15 crore per day, but they are not true.
Kamal Haasan has now joined the sequel’s shoot and will receive the remaining payment after completing it. The film also stars Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan, and is produced by Vyjayanthi Movies.
