Trade Talk: Drushyam 2 aiming for a theatrical release

It is already reported that hero Venkatesh’s upcoming film, Drushyam 2 has wrapped up its entire shooting formalities a couple of months back. Touted as a family thriller, the film is an official remake of Mohanlal’s Malayalam hit, Drishyam 2.

News also came out that the film will skip its theatrical release and opt for a direct digital outing on reputed OTT platform Disney Plus Hotstar. But the latest reports coming in from trade circles is that the makers are planning to go for a theatrical release of Drushyam 2 first. As per the sources, the discussions are going on between the theatres management and the distributors chain regarding the theatrical release of Drushyam 2 under the supervision of producer Suresh Babu.

Being directed by Malayalam director Jeethu Joseph, Drushyam 2 has Meena, Ester Anil, Kruthika, Nadiyaa and Naresh in prominent roles. Suresh Babu in association with Malayalam maker Antony Perumbavoor produced the film.
