Yash returned to theatres after four years with Toxic, which released with huge expectations. The film opened to packed houses.
However the negative word of mouth quickly affected its performance and the film witnessed a major drop in collections after the strong start.
The second day began on a poor note across all languages, with collections falling by more than 50 percent. Even key markets like Karnataka and North India saw a sharp decline.
Considering the film’s high financials and weak box office performance, Toxic is now heading towards a major disaster.
The makers released the film on their own through an advance basis, while its non-theatrical deals are yet to be closed. Yash co-produced the film with KVN Productions, while Geetu Mohandas directed it.
