Yash is returning to theatres after almost four years with Toxic. Although the teaser and trailers received a mixed response, they went viral due to their bold content.
The film, however, received negative feedback after its first-day shows. Despite the criticism, Toxic managed to register a strong opening at the box office. The film reportedly earned around Rs. 50 crore net in the North India market on day one.
Have a look at the first-day collections:
| Nizam | 5.8 crore |
| Ceded | 1.4 crore |
| Andhra (Total) | 4 crore |
| Karnataka | 15.6 crore |
| Tamil Nadu | 3.4 crore |
| Kerala | 1.12 crore |
| North | 29.2 crore |
| Rest of India | 4.3 crore |
| Overseas | 9.8 crore |
| Worldwide Total | 74.62 crore(share) |
Toxic had a worldwide theatrical business of Rs. 425 crore and needs Rs. 430 crore share to break even. The film collected Rs. 74.62 crore share and Rs. 140 crore gross on day one. Despite negative talk, Yash’s pan-India popularity helped the film get a strong opening. However, it still needs Rs. 355.38 crore share to reach break-even.
