Yash, who gained pan-India fame with KGF, returned after nearly four years with Toxic. Although the teaser and trailers went viral, the film received negative reviews after release.
Despite the criticism, Toxic recorded strong openings on the first day. However, its collections dropped sharply from the second day.

Toxic recorded a worldwide theatrical business of Rs. 425 crore, with a break-even target of Rs. 430 crore share. The film collected Rs. 120.23 crore share and Rs. 223 crore gross in three days. Despite a strong opening day, collections dropped sharply from Day 2. The film needs another Rs. 309.77 crore share to reach break-even.
