Yash, who became a pan-India star with KGF, returned after nearly four years with Toxic. Though the teaser and trailers created buzz, the film received negative reviews after its release.
Despite the poor word of mouth, Toxic had a strong opening on Day 1. However, its collections dropped sharply on Day 2.

Toxic did a worldwide theatrical business of Rs 425 crore, with a break-even target of Rs 430 crore. After two days, the film collected Rs 103.44 crore share and Rs 192 crore gross. Though it opened strongly on Day 1, collections dropped sharply on Day 2. The film needs another Rs 326.56 crore share to reach break-even.
